Entering their three-game Western Conference road trip, the Soo Greyhounds seemed to be looking down the barrel of a loaded gun.
The Windsor Spitfires, Kitchener Rangers, and London Knights represented three of the conference’s four best clubs, and the Hounds were exiting a three-game homestand where results constantly eluded them.
Knowing those opponents, grabbing five out of six points is a major win, overage winger Marco Mignosa said.
“We knew the kind of opponents we were playing this weekend, and if you told us we were going to get five out of six points at the beginning of the road trip, we’d be pretty happy with it,” he said.
The Greyhounds grounded Windsor 4-3 in overtime on Thursday, shut out Kitchener 4-0 on Friday, and battled to the end in a 3-2 shootout loss to Londo
