JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — A four-year-old girl is dead after she was struck by a school bus in Jamestown Monday.
The incident happened around 8am at the intersection of Cole Avenue and Whitehill Avenue.
Investigators say officers were called for a report of a child struck by a Panama Central School District Bus. When officers arrived on scene, they attempted to render first aid on the child, now identified as 4-year-old Leanna Herrera. She was taken to UPMC Chautauqua at WCA Hospital where she died of her injuries.
Police say all parties have been cooperating with the investigation. The driver of the bus is not being charged at this time.
