Coventrians spent days building a huge cardboard installation before demolishing it to mark the 85th anniversary of the Coventry Blitz. Hundreds joined in on the project near Broadgate .

St Michaels Cathedral was destroyed in November 1940 when the Luftwaffe launched a devastating bombing raid on Coventry . Volunteers worked on a reimagined version of the building during a week of workshops at Drapers' Hall.

Many joined in with the 15m-high installation over the weekend near Primark on Broadgate . It was built from the ground up and then dramatically demolished to mark the loss of St Michaels Cathedral in a raid where more than 550 people died.

Artist Olivier Grossetête revealed 25km of tape was needed to keep the one-tonne structure from collapsing. Councillor Abdul Salam Khan sa
