Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in Pouni, Bark, and Lettar of Reasi district have been reportedly grappling with a severe shortage of anti-rabies vaccines for several months, leaving patients in distress and forcing them to either purchase the life-saving shots from private markets at exorbitant prices or travel long distances to places like Sunderbani or Reasi town.
Sources from the ground revealed that the vaccine has been unavailable for many days, with no immediate replenishment in sight.
“These Primary Health Centers are running out completely, and patients are suffering,” said a local health worker, speaking on condition of anonymity, adding that the medical officers at the affected PHCs have repeatedly requested replenishment from higher authorities,
