JACKSON COUNTY, Mich. (WILX) - Two pedestrians were seriously injured early Monday morning after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Airport Road in Jackson County.

The Blackman-Leoni Department of Public Safety responded to the crash around 6:45 a.m. near the intersection of Airport Road and Wayland Drive.

Officers and emergency personnel determined that a northbound vehicle had hit the pedestrians as they attempted to cross the roadway.

Both the driver and a witness told police the vehicle had a green light at the time of the collision.

According to investigators, it was still dark outside, and limited visibility may have contributed to the crash.
