BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Community members are coming together to host turkey giveaways and other events to help families in need celebrate Thanksgiving.

The following events are happening in Baton Rouge and surrounding areas:

Saturday, Nov. 22

TURKEY GIVEAWAY: Faith Baptist Spiritual Church in Zachary is hosting its annual turkey giveaway on Saturday, Nov. 22 . It starts at 11 a.m. at the church, which is located at 4450 Mills Street in Zachary . Organizers say 100 turkeys will be given away to ‘local’ families first-come, first-served. Limit 1 turkey per vehicle.

Tuesday, Nov. 25
