The Patriots scored a critical touchdown against the Jets in their Week 11 win just about halfway through the third quarter. The touchdown came as the result of some pretty clear miscommunication.
It came on a second and five from the Jets’ six yard line.
Jarvis Brownlee Jr. initially lines up on the left side of the defensive/right side of the offensive formation.
The Patriots, however, line up two receivers to the other side of the formation. Brandon Stephens is the only corner on that side so Brownlee ends up needing to hurry to the other side.
As Brownlee arrives, he and Stephens are trying to communicate.
However, Drake Maye quick snaps it.
The frustrating part of this play is that Brownlee actually does a good initial job of jamming TreVeyon Henderson within the first five yard
