The Landman season 2 premiere episode, "Death and a Sunset," introduces several new characters, like Sam Elliott's T.L. , and elevates some returning ones, particularly Cami Miller, played by recent Oscar nominee Demi Moore. It accomplishes this while staying true to its unique blend of drama and comedy, backed by an immersive gold-tinted neo-Western feel.

In case there was any doubt heading into the highly anticipated second season of Landman , Jon Hamm's Monty Miller character is undoubtedly no longer with us, paving the way for Cami to take the reins of what is now her massive oil company, M-Tex. The once sweet and mild-tampered matriarch proves right off the bat to a room full of oil tycoons that she means serious business.
