A Sudbury man who attacked his wife, son, and a concerned neighbour during a mental health breakdown has been issued a one-year conditional sentence.
“I’m deeply sorry toward the people I involved in my delusional nightmare,” Brian Tuomi read from a letter in Sudbury court. “I’m sorry for the actions I did. I’m sorry for the words I spoke.”

Ontario Court Justice Julie Lefebvre, accepting a joint sentencing submission, told Tuomi that what happened last year was “out of character.”
She also told him that using marijuana to self-medicate was a bad idea.
“You used marijuana and made it worse,” she told Tuomi. “You are the poster for that.”
