WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) - Looking at modifying the city charter, forms of government, and courtroom renovations. Those are among the topics Watertown Mayor Sarah Pierce addressed before Monday’s City Council Meeting.
The meeting is at 7 p.m. Monday in the Watertown City Council Chambers.
Sitting down at the 7News Digital News Desk with Jeff Cole, Pierce explained that Monday’s meeting will include a public hearing put forth by Council Member Cliff Olney, looking to reconvene a charter commission to see what could be changed in the Watertown City Charter.
Pierce also answered questions regarding the debate of a city manager vs a strong mayor form of government for the city. A city manager-led government is what the City of Watertown currently runs under, with a city manager in charge
