MARS HILL - After a military veteran's Eagle Scout project to honor the Beech Glen community's military veterans fell into disrepair, a couple stepped up to help restore the memorial.

On Nov. 11, the Beech Glen Community Center hosted Gabe Phillips, a Mars Hill resident who completed the project in 2014, and had performed for his Eagle Scout Service Project.
