New video shows the moment Sunrise Police intervened to stop an 80-year-old man from sending money to criminals overseas who convinced him he needed to move the cash.
The body camera video shows police arriving as the man was on the phone with the scammers who were posing as his bank and directing him to put cash in a Bitcoin ATM.
"Sir, how much money have you put in here?" an officer asks.
"Chase Bank is on the telephone," the man replies.
"No, Chase Bank is not on the telephone," the officer responds.
The man had several stacks of money with him that totaled $60,000.
Authorities said the man had already lost more than $50,000 before police intervened and stopped him from sending more.
