It's not the news the Eagles were hoping to hear.

Right tackle Lane Johnson is expected to miss 4-6 weeks with a Lisfranc injury. The NFL Network first reported the news. That could mean a possible stint on injured reserve, which would require Johnson to miss a minimum of four games.

Johnson, a perennial Pro Bowl player and one of the top right tackles in the NFL, left in the first quarter of Sunday night's game against the Detroit Lions with the injury. The Eagles won 16-9.

The estimated timetable for Lane Johnson could mean that he'd return in time for the end of the regular season and start of the playoffs in early January.

But it's also possible that Johnson could need season-ending surgery. Eagles coach Nick Sirianni has a press conference scheduled for later in the afternoon.
