LINN COUNTY, Iowa — Jury deliberation has concluded in Linn County for the trial of Luke Truesdell, who is accused of beating four people to death last year.

Truesdell is facing four counts of first-degree murder and could receive a life sentence if found guilty. Authorities allege that he killed four individuals with a metal pipe in rural Marion.

During closing arguments, the prosecution stated that Truesdell admitted to hitting the victims and asserted there is no other explanation for their deaths.

Conversely, the defense urged the jury to consider the lack of blood found on Truesdell that day and the possibility that he might not be responsible for the crimes.
