Several Iowa law enforcement agencies, including troopers with the Iowa State Patrol, were involved in a shooting that left one person dead.

At roughly 9:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, members of the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, the Iowa State Patrol and other local law enforcement attempted to conduct a traffic stop along U.S. Highway 20 on a vehicle being driven by a wanted male out of Waterloo, according to the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation. The driver refused to pull over, prompting a pursuit.

"During the pursuit, the subject’s vehicle was disabled and came to a stop on the side of the road. The subject exited his vehicle, produced a firearm and fired at officers," according to a news release from the Iowa DCI.
