Two Connecticut teens were killed in a crash in Rhode Island over the weekend after the vehicle they were in struck a tree, leaving four others injured.
Emergency crews responded to the report of a serious crash on Route 95 in West Warwick on Saturday just before 11:40 p.m., according to Rhode Island State Police .
State police found that a silver Toyota carrying six people veered off the highway when the driver lost control and struck a tree. Firefighters and other first responders extricated all six occupants who were trapped after the collision, according to state police.
State police said 19-year-old Ayanna Voyak of Hartford was pronounced dead at the scene. She was a passenger in the Toyota.
The five other occupants suffered injuries and were taken to Rhode Island Hospital.
