ROCKFORD, Ill. — A Rockford woman who shot and killed a man in 2023 has been found guilty of murder.
Winnebago County State's Attorney J. Hanley announced that 28-year-old Arianna Hawkins of Rockford was found guilty of first-degree murder in the death of then-29-year-old Floyd Rush in 2023 .
On Nov. 17, 2023, Rockford Police officers were called to the 1300 block of Evelyn Street for a shooting. When they arrived, they found Rush suffering from a gunshot wound.
Rush was taken to an area hospital but later died from his wounds.
Testimony from an eyewitness revealed that Rush and Hawkins were having an argument on the night of the shooting. Video surveillance showed Hawkins throwing a drink at Rush.
After the drink was thrown, Rush was seen getting out of his vehicle to confront Hawk
