ROCKFORD, Ill. — The name of the victim of a recent stabbing was released.
The Winnebago County Coroner's Office identified the man who died from a stabbing in Rockford on Monday morning as 27-year-old Troy Snyder of Rockford.
Around 1 a.m. on Monday morning, Rockford Police were called to an apartment in the 2200 block of Auburn Street for a report of two men fighting.
When police arrived, they found Snyder unconscious. He was brought by ambulance to a local hospital.
Snyder underwent treatment in the ER for his injuries, but was pronounced dead at 1:14 a.m.
An autopsy confirmed Snyder's cause of death was his stab wounds.
The incident is still being investigated by the Coroner's Office and by the Rockford Police Department. No suspect was listed in the release.
