EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - No. 17 Michigan State men’s basketball will battle No. 12 Kentucky in the Champions Classic at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Tuesday night.
The Spartans are playing their first game away from the Breslin Center this year after a 4-0 start to the season.
Kentucky is off to a 3-1 start, with its only loss coming on the road at rival No. 6 Louisville, 96-88, last week.
Tuesday’s matchup is the 27th meeting between MSU and Kentucky, with Kentucky holding a 14-12 advantage. The teams are 2-2 in head-to-head Champions Classic games. The Spartans have won three of the last five meetings, including an 86-77 double overtime win in the 2022 Champions Classic.
