The estate of O.J. Simpson has accepted a creditor claim $58 million from Fred Goldman, whose son Ron Goldman was killed in 1994 alongside Simpson’s ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson.
The acceptance was filed in Clark County District Court in Nevada on Nov. 14, moving forward a civil judgment that has gone largely unpaid for nearly three decades, Parade reports.
Simpson died in April 2024 at age 76, having paid almost nothing toward the debt during his lifetime, the outlet added.
A 1997 civil suit found Simpson liable for the stabbing deaths and awarded the families more than $33 million. The claim Goldman submitted to probate court in July 2024 totals $57,997,858, reflecting three decades of accumulated interest on the original judgment, according to Parade.
