ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. ( WHNS /Gray News) - A teacher in South Carolina admitted to stalking an 11-year-old who was in his class.
Dylan Robert Dukes, 27, pleaded guilty to first-degree harassment and was sentenced to three years in jail and five years of probation.
According to the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, Dukes wrote an 11-year-old girl over 60 love letters and gave her cards, gift cards, ornaments, pictures and “unwanted hugs” that made the victim feel uncomfortable.
Authorities stated before summer break, the Starr Elementary School teacher gave the child a personalized box with a letter for each day of the week for the summer.
Duke also recently joined the child’s church after realizing she would no longer be a student at the school.
