Former Pittsburgh Steelers safety Juan Thornhill is signing to the Jacksonville Jaguars practice squad. This comes exactly a week after the Steelers cut Thornhill from their active roster and he cleared waivers.

Thornhill, who was signed by the team this offseason on a one-year deal, has been worked out of the safety rotation.

When the Steelers needed a backup free safety, it was Chuck Clark, not Thornhill who took over at that position once they lost to the Green Bay Packers. Thornhill struggled in that game, and was relegated to special teams snaps moving forward.

Over the course of the season, Thornhill played in nine games with one start and had 38 tackles for the team.
