The NFL has suspended Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase for spitting on Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Jalen Ramsey on Sunday, the league announced. Chase is appealing the ruling.

The appeal will have an expedited review process, with NFL officers Jordy Nelson, Ramon Foster, and Derrick Brooks who could oversee the judgement. Foster is a former Steelers offensive lineman.

With the suspension, Chase will also forfeit his entire game check next week when the Bengals face the New England Patriots. The suspension is in line with Eagles defensive lineman Jalen Carter, who was suspended one game for spitting at Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott to open the season.
