WILLIAMSBURG — Two people are facing charges after a shooting in a residential area of Williamsburg left one person injured Sunday afternoon.
Police and rescue crews responded to a report of a shooting in the 100 block of Mimosa Drive just after 2 p.m. They found a 38-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper chest. The man, who is from Williamsburg, was taken to Riverside Doctors’ Hospital and then transferred to a trauma center, where he is expected to recover.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the man was in a verbal altercation with two people before the pair got into a vehicle, according to a news release. The driver then ran into the victim with the car, while the other person shot the victim, police said.
