MIFFLINBURG, Pa. — At the Mifflinburg Police Department in Union County , Chief Jeffrey Hackenburg is looking over paperwork online for a grant the department recently received. The state grant for $146,000 through the Department of Community and Economic Development and Senator Gene Yaw's office will help the department purchase upgrades to equipment that officers use daily.
"Upgrades to our body camera system, our mobile video recorders, which is the car cameras, and the automated license plate reader," said Chief Jeffrey Hackenburg of Mifflinburg Police Department.
Chief Hackenburg says using license plate readers will allow officers to pick up any license plate of a vehicle that is driving in front of them or even parked. Something they have never been able to do until now. The upg
