LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Heads up drivers, this ramp on Interstate 65 will be closed for several weeks.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) announced the I-65 South to I-64 West ramp near the John F. Kennedy Memorial Bridge will be closed starting Tuesday at 9 a.m., and will not reopen until Monday, Dec. 15.
This is all part of the expansion joint replacement project that is happening on the bridge.
Motorists will have to detour by continuing on I-65 South to I-264 West -- otherwise known as the Watterson Expressway -- to get on I-64, however access to both I-64 East and I-71 will be open, KYTC said.
Once this closure is finished, crews will transition to the next phase of the project; the left three lanes will be closed so crews can replace the expansion joints on that side as well,
