As part of Veterans Week which runs from Nov. 5 until the 11, Indigenous veterans are specifically acknowledged on Nov. 8 for their service and the unique challenges they faced upon returning home. Known as Anishinabe Zhimaaginishi Giizhigad this day was officially established in 1994 in Manitoba and has since become part of local ceremonies across Canada.
