A prosecutor said on Monday that former New England Patriots wide receiver Antonio Brown could face up to 30 years in prison if Brown is convicted on charges of attempted murder.

Many attempted murder cases in Florida come with a maximum 15-year prison sentence, but Brown’s case is different because he was allegedly using a firearm. “Assistant State Attorney Stephanie Cruz said because Brown allegedly used a gun, he could face double that time behind bars because of a firearm sentencing enhancement,” ESPN reported on Monday . “The law also carries a potential 20-year minimum mandatory sentence upon conviction.”
