Shedeur Sanders' home was broken into during the Cleveland Browns' Week 11 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, NBC Sports and the Akron Beacon Journal report.
NBC reports it isn't yet clear what, if anything, was taken from Sanders' home. The rookie quarterback has not yet publicly addressed the break-in.
Sanders isn't the first NFL athlete to have his home broken into during a game. Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce both had their homes burglarized during early October of the 2024 NFL season while police responded to a break-in at Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow's home during a "Monday Night Football" game on Dec. 9, 2024.
The NFL sent a memo to players after the break-ins at Mahomes and Kelce's houses, warning "organized and skilled" criminals were targeting athletes' homes for burglaries across sports. The league added, "law enforcement officials have noted these groups appear to exploit team schedules to target athletes' homes on game days."
The break-in at Sanders' residence just so happened to coincide with the fifth-round rookie making his NFL regular-season debut. The 23-year-old played the second half of the Nov. 16 game after Dillon Gabriel suffered a concussion and was ruled out.
Sanders struggled across his action, completing just 4 of 16 passes for 68 yards while throwing an interception and being sacked twice. He did not lead the Browns, who led 16-10 at halftime, on any scoring drives against a stout Ravens defense.
Gabriel remains in concussion protocol as of Monday, so Sanders may be granted a chance to start in Week 12.
