There is nowhere in Ontario where anyone could cover all their expenses working full-time at Ontario’s current minimum wage, the Living Wage Network announced earlier this month.

The network of employers, employees, non-profits and researchers aims to achieve decent work standards for all Ontarians and eradicate working poverty.

To achieve that, every year, the group calculates what would constitute a living wage across the province as divided into ten economic regions as defined by Statistics Canada.

They define a living wage as “the hourly wage a worker needs to earn to cover basic expenses.”
