The borough has just 11 cameras, less than a fifth of Manchester’s total of 57. Across the region, more than 250 traffic cameras have been installed in Greater Manchester, and there are hundreds more ‘mobile locations’ where the police can enforce the limits temporarily.
However, speed limits in Rochdale have slowly been reduced on residential roads, starting in 2021, so drivers are capped at 20mph, not 30mph.
