PHOENIX (AZFamily) — One man is dead, and another is hurt after a shooting broke out in west Phoenix late Saturday night.
Just after 11 p.m., first responders were called to a neighborhood near 38th Avenue and Encanto Boulevard, south of Thomas Road, for reports of shots fired, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
When officers arrived, they found two men who had been shot. Police say one man, later identified as 21-year-old Jose Catalan, died at the scene. The other man was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Arizona’s Family crews on the scene saw a heavy police presence along Encanto, with officers taping off a crime scene and setting up a command van.
