COLUMBIA, S.C. — The South Carolina Department of Environmental Services (SCDES) is inviting residents statewide to review and comment on the draft 2025 South Carolina Water Plan , a newly updated blueprint that outlines how the state will manage and protect its water resources for generations to come.

The plan details best practices for responsibly managing groundwater and surface water to support drinking water, agriculture, industry, recreation, and environmental needs.

The update reflects the work of the WaterSC Water Resources Working Group, River Basin Councils (RBCs), and other stakeholders.
