SEASIDE, Calif. – Klayre Barres, a key player for Chico State women's soccer, has earned the 2025 CCAA Elite 13 Award. This accolade honors her academic and athletic excellence, recognizing her achievements both in the classroom and on the field.
Barres, a double major in political science and criminal justice, represents Chico State Athletics with distinction. Her injury last summer turned out to be an unexpected blessing, allowing her to continue her academic and athletic pursuits.
"The Elite 13 Award recognizes the academic and athletic achievement of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the conference championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers," according to the award's description.
