Rev. Jesse Jackson, who has been hospitalized since last week for treatment for a rare neurological condition, will be moved out of an intensive care unit Monday.

A spokesperson for Jackson said he will be moved from the ICU at some point Monday, and will remain at Northwestern Memorial Hospital for continuing care for Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, an illness that impacts just 1-in-10,000 Americans.

“We believe in the power of prayer, and we are grateful for the overwhelming outreach and prayers of the faithful,” Jackson’s son Yusef Jackson said in a statement.

Jackson was rushed to Northwestern Memorial Hospital on Wednesday night and placed under observation for PSP, according to a statement from Rainbow PUSH Coalition, the organization he founded that fights for social change.
