Three men have been charged after police thwarted a suspected kill car in Western Sydney.
About 5.15pm on Monday, four people wearing balaclavas were spotted sitting in a black SUV on Regina Street in Greystanes, but when police approached, the car sped off, sparking a pursuit.
The SUV allegedly hit speeds of up to 80km per hour in 50 zones before the pursuit came to an end when it struck a parked car on Paton Street in Merrylands West and the four occupants fled the scene.
Two men were arrested after being chased on foot, while the help of PolAir and the Dog Unit was required to arrest a third.
A loaded shotgun was found under the driver's seat and two jerry cans were discovered in the back of the car.
The vehicle is alleged to have been stolen from Balwyn, Victoria.
