The estate of OJ Simpson has agreed to pay the family of Ron Goldman US$57 million (approximately A$87 million), nearly three decades since they won a wrongful death judgement against the former NFL player.
Simpson was acquitted of murdering Goldman, after he was found stabbed to death alongside Simpson’s ex-wife, Nicole, in Los Angeles in June 1994.
Simpson went to trial over the murders but was found not guilty.
In 1997, Goldman won a wrongful death lawsuit against Simpson and last year, Goldman filed against Simpson’s estate for $117 million, following his death.
Malcolm LaVergne, the executor of Simpson’s estate, has accepted Goldman’s creditor claim for $57,997,858.12, plus 30 years of accumulated interest, according to TMZ.
