Doctors have been cautioned about working for an AFL club after the concussion class action against Geelong took an interesting twist.

Two-time premiership hero Max Rooke is leading the class action and now Geelong have roped in their former doctors, naming them in a third-party notice.

Geelong have named 12 doctors who worked at the club from 1985 to 2023, including its current chief medical officer David Long (who started there in 2021).

The third-party notice will allow Geelong to seek compensation from the doctors if the class action — which has almost 100 players involved — leads to a pay-out.

After the latest development, world famous sports medicine doctor, Peter Brukner, issued a warning to his peers about working at the AFL.
