CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - A vehicle went up in flames after it struck a utility pole at the corner of Lee Road and Invermere Avenue on Cleveland’s East Side Monday afternoon.
The pole and its transformer came crashing down, igniting the car.
The Cleveland Fire Department said the person who hit the pole took off from the scene after the crash.
CEI was called to deenergize the power line, allowing firefighters to put the fire out.
The car was sitting very close to a building during the fire, but it was not damaged.
