LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — A Little Rock woman is thanking first responders for saving her life after strong winds caused a tree to fall into her home on April 5th, pinning her beneath it.
Just when she thought she wouldn't survive, first responders gave her a second chance at life.
"I could feel myself starting to slip away," Katie McClanahan described.
That's what McClanahan said she remembers from being trapped under a tree that fell into her home about seven months ago.
"I was instantly knocked to the ground, surrounded by darkness. I was face down and frog-legged with a shattered pelvis. It was a massive tree, [about] four feet in diameter, crushing me. I broke into tears, desperately, screaming for help, but no one heard me," she explained.
