Glendale is recalcutating and searching for funding sources for renovating its operations campus after voters sent a $35 million bond proposal for the campus down to defeat by a slim margin Nov. 4.
Final unofficial vote totals released by Maricopa County Nov. 8, show Glendale’s bond question failing by a mere 12 votes, with 12,652 against (50.02%) and 12,640 (49.98%) for it. On election night, the “no” votes led by nearly 300.
The Glendale City Council declared the canvass of votes official at a special meeting Nov. 14.
“The city will look at alternative funding sources as part of the 10-year capital improvement plan, which will be presented for consideration in the spring of 2026,” Assistant City Manager Vicki Rios stated in a text Nov. 17.
