MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - A firefighter received minor injuries when responding to a call, the Beaver Dam Fire Department announced Monday.

The call came in around 2 p.m. Monday from the 500 block of North Spring Street reporting a structure fire.

BDFD said the fire was reported at a duplex.

Beaver Dam Police assisted the fire department in extinguishing the fire.

Officials say a dog was rescued by firefighters in the residence next door, that was “not involved in the fire but was attached to the affected structure.”

A firefighter sustained minor injuries during the call and was taken to a local emergency room.

Damage estimate for the fire is not available at this time. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
