EAU CLAIRE (WQOW) - Gov. Tony Evers visited University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's campus food pantry on Monday afternoon.

With the federal shutdown over and SNAP funding restored, it feels like the crisis is over, however it doesn't change trends at area food pantries that are seeing increased use.

UW-Eau Claire's Campus Harvest Food Pantry is no different, over the 2021-2022 school year, the pantry saw 2,085 total visits. That number ballooned by more than double in the 2024-2025 school year by reaching 4,783 visits.

For Governor Tony Evers, he feels the increased demand is interconnected to affordability, and that the trends are extremely concerning.
