NEW HAVEN, CT. (WFSB) - Crews battled a fire at a waste containment building in New Haven Monday evening.
Officials said that it happened on Middletown Avenue.
Crews arrived at around 6:17 p.m. and observed heavy fire from the building.
The bulk of the fire was knocked down.
Excavators will be used to sort through the junk inside the building and firefighters will soak it to control any hotspots.
A rain protector on the roof of the structure collapsed.
Officials say that crews will be on scene throughout the night.
No injuries were reported.
