A man has pleaded guilty to murdering his three-year-old son in a unit in Sydney's south-west two years ago.
Court documents reveal the 48-year-old was paranoid that he was being followed by undercover detectives in the lead-up to the toddler's death in May 2023, and believed people were trying to take his son away or show he was a neglectful father.
Those observations were made by his partner, who he had reconnected with after a previous relationship.
Warning: This story contains descriptions of violence, self-harm and domestic violence.
A statement of agreed facts also sheds light on the circumstances, including how his partner had made a domestic violence report to police.
