Myrtle Beach, SC – Police are investigating a shooting that left one person injured Monday evening near a busy stretch of North Kings Highway.

Officers were called to the area of 19th Avenue North around 6:11 p.m. following reports of gunfire.

Responding units found one individual suffering from injuries related to the shooting. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Authorities have not released the person’s identity or condition.

An active investigation is underway, and police said an increased law enforcement presence will remain in the area through the night.

Police urge witnesses to come forward

Detectives are interviewing witnesses and reviewing evidence from the scene to determine what led up to the shooting. No arrests have been announced.
