TOLEDO, Ohio — After months of extensions and uncertainty, remaining tenants at the Riverside Mobile Home Park have now been forced to leave as the city prepares to demolish the longstanding south Toledo trailer park .
The park was condemned on May 23 after city officials cited unsafe and deteriorating living conditions. Tenants were first ordered to vacate by June 23, then given additional time until Sept. 22.
A final notice, issued Nov. 7, required all remaining residents to leave by Nov. 16, a Sunday, or face removal beginning Monday.
Among those facing displacement is Charles Parker, who has lived at Riverside during the months-long battle over the future of the property.
“Move on to the next day, that's all we can do,” Parker said.
