DETROIT BEACH, Frenchtown Charter Township — Hundreds of Frenchtown Charter Township residents packed a public meeting on Monday to share concerns about a proposed data center that could soon take shape near the I-75 and North Dixie Highway interchange.

The project, led by software company Cloverleaf, aims to build a large-scale data facility in the township. During the meeting, community members raised questions about power consumption, electric rates and potential environmental impacts.

Representatives from Cloverleaf and township officials were on hand to address those concerns.

Township Clerk Kyle Bryant said officials believe many of the issues can be managed.
