RALEIGH, N.C. (WITN) - Department of Homeland Security immigration agents have been in Charlotte making arrests since this weekend, and now there are reports they will be in Raleigh beginning Tuesday.

On social media Monday night, Governor Josh Stein said his office is aware of the reports.

Stein said, “Once again, I call on federal agents to target violent criminals, not neighbors walking down the street, going to church, or putting up Christmas decorations. Stop targeting people simply going about their lives because of the color of their skin, as you are doing in Charlotte.”

WRAL reports that the mayor of Raleigh told them that Border Patrol agents are already in Raleigh and will be active tomorrow.
