TEXARKANA (KSLA) - A Texarkana business, Crossties, partnered with community members to provide 100 turkeys to people on government assistance.

Texarkana resident Bobby Washington arrived early this morning at Crossties Venue in downtown Texarkana to pick up food.

“The government shut down earlier this month and it’s helping us out because we didn’t receive our stamps,” says Bobby Washington, a resident.

The local business handed out 100 Turkeys and other grocery items to those receiving government food assistance.

Crossties leaders, with the help of community donations, made this possible.
